Baking for the Troops was founded by Melissa Kuipers in 2009. While a civilian herself, Melissa's father was a Marine, grandfather was in the Army, sister and brother-in-law met and married while serving in the Navy, and she currently has two nephews in the Navy who are stationed at Pearl Harbor. Melissa also has countless friends and colleagues who are members of all branches of the US Armed Forces.
Though an attorney by education and a lobbyist by profession, Melissa's greatest personal joy comes in knowing she is giving back to her country and community, one box of warm baked goodies at a time.
